Easy Strawberry Jello Poke Cake
Y’all, this cake only has 5 ingredients - can you believe it? And it tastes so dang good, you’ll want to make it every week. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 small box strawberry Jello
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 container whipped topping (thawed)
- Fresh strawberries (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Mix the white cake mix according to the package directions, then bake it in a 9x13 inch pan. Once the cake is done, let it cool for 10 minutes. While it’s cooling, mix together the Jello and boiling water until the Jello is completely dissolved. Then stir in the cold water.
Using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake. Pour the Jello mixture over the cake, making sure it gets into the holes you just made. Refrigerate the cake for 2-3 hours, or until the Jello is set. When you’re ready to serve, top the cake with whipped topping and fresh strawberries (if you’re using them).
Easy Strawberry Cake Recipe Instructions for 2 Layer Cake & 9x13 Cake
Y’all, this recipe can make either a 2 layer cake, or a 9x13 inch cake. You’re free to choose whichever you like! Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 small box strawberry Jello
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup mashed strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- Red food coloring (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Mix the white cake mix, Jello, sugar, vegetable oil, and milk together in a bowl. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Gently stir in the mashed strawberries and food coloring (if you’re using it).
If you’re making a 2 layer cake, divide the batter evenly between 2 greased 9-inch cake pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. If you’re making a 9x13 inch cake, pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
